August 8-13
On Monday we got introduced to Dr. Neat, who showed us what we were going to do during the school year.
On Tuesday we went to the workshop and got introduced to Mr. Miller.
On Wednesday we got introduced to the Wednesday challenge and we got split up into groups. The purpose of the project was to build a bridge made out of spaghetti to hold off a couple ounces of water.
On Thursday we also got to get with our groups to work on our projects. This was a good opportunity to really get to know who you are working with.
On Friday, we finally got to create our websites and we had a chance just to play around with it and write our first entry.

Yesterday in class we worked on our websites and got introduced to sketchup. Since we were just introduced to it, we just got the chance to play around with the website and the tools. Everyone just got to use the program and it was awesome.

On this day, Wednesday, we finished our final spaghetti bridges and we were ready for the final day.

Today we were going over the 90 degree angle triangle Wednesday challenge. Each of the groups were called up to share what they did to complete it. They also said what they learned and what the other members did.

Today we got an opportunity to work on our websites and speak to dr. Neat about them.

Today is Wednesday, which means Wednesday Challenge. Our challenge today was to calculate the amount of candy corn will fill up an entire 8 1/2"X11" paper while they are standing up. This was a very fun Wednesday Challenge and I had a lot of fun doing this with my partners Garen and William.

Today is Friday whick means Mr. Wilton is coming over to take a look at the JPL group's inventions. We got a chance to see the Kevin Arm and Sam's "train" in action. Both said that they still need to make adjustments, but i was still impressed. All of them worked hard to come up with their inventions.

Today we worked on our E Wednesday Challenge with the group that designed our E Dr. Neat also told us our grades from the last grading period.

Today in class we are getting a chance to work on our websites and bridges. Since my partner, Shaunt, is in the other room doing the safety video thing, I teamed up with Arthur because his partner, Aren, is doing the same safety video thing.

Today is Wednesday which means Wednesday challenge. Our Wednesday Challenge today is to come up with a ratio of a kilogram of bolts compared to a kilogram of metal bars.

Today Mr. Wilton came over to take a look at the veterans' jpl challenge inventions for the last time. Each group worked hard to get to where they are now but there can be only three that make the final cut. It was interesting to see the final products of each group and we can hardly wait until the results at the JPL challenge.

Today we got a chance to show Dr. Neat what we did for our websites. I personally feel like I have improved my website a lot since the last time.

Today is Tuesday and we paired up with our partners to work on our bridge project. My partner and I chose to do our project on the Sydney Harbour Bridge. I can alreaddy tell that this project is going to be good.

It's Wednesday which means Wednesday challenge. Our challenge today was to glue two small metal pieces together with an adhesive.

Today is Friday. You might be thinking, "Oh, Mr. Wilton is coming", but sadly he will not be coming today since last Friday was the last time he will be here. But we still got a chance to see the JPL group present their final inventions for the semi-finals which is tomorrow.

Today we learned how to use the rotate tool in google sketchup. This tool is used to rotate figures that you draw and create.

Today the JPL crew showed us some pictures and videos and told us how the JPL Invention challenge worked out. Unfortunately none of their inventions made it to the finals.

Wednesdays are for Wednesday challenges. Our Wednesday challenge today was to design a structure out of graham crackers, marshmallows, and pretzels. Tomorrow is when we give that file to another group to construct.

Today was the day that we completed our design of the Wednesday challenge and got a design from another group. Our tower was not successfull for it had no balance.

Today we did not do much in class. We watched a couple episodes of Mythbusters and worked on our websites.
